If we could, we would marry these things, because the combination of banana bread with dates is heaven to us. And obviously everything in moderation; although dates are very healthy. Yes, they contain a lot of (natural) sugars, but they also contain loads of fibers which make you feel much more saturated compared to usual sweets. Besides, dates contain tanninen and polyphelonen which have anti-inflammatory effects. So if is up to us, we can never eat enough of these brown fruits. What do you need?

    SUNT banana bread
  • 10
    Medjoul dates
  • 40 ml
    water
  • 1
    teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 150 gr
    flour of your choice
  • 75 gr
    oats
  • 2
    tablespoon all spice
  • 1
    tablespoon cinnamon
  • 3
    tablespoons coconut oil
  • 3
    tablespoons honey
  • Hand full
    of walnuts, chopped

How-to

  1. Preheat the oven to 170 degrees.
  2. Mix the flour, oats, all spice and cinnamon in a bowl until fully mixed.
  3. Melt the coconutoil in the microwave or in a sauce pan, when melted mix in the honey.
  4. Add the coconut oil mixture to the flour mixture and create a crumble dough.
  5. Line a baking tray with baking paper and place the crumbles on the tray, sprinkle the walnuts on top of the crumble.
  6. Bake in the middle of the oven for about 15-20 minutes until golden-brown. Let them cool down afterwards.
  7. Blend the Medjoul dates with the water and vanilla extract into a smooth paste. If it is not yet spreadable, just add some extra water.
  8. Spread the date paste on top of the banana bread or cut the banana bread in slices and put some of the paste on each slice.
  9. Decorate with the walnut crumble.
